Stairs Lead To A Lofted Play Space Above A Bed And Closet In This Kids Bedroom Design

Architecture and interior design firm Martin’s has completed a modern home in Kiev, Ukraine.

One of the designed spaces in the home that caught our eye is the kid’s bedroom, which includes a custom-designed bed with a lofted play space.

The lower section includes stairs with storage and a ladder, both of which provide access to the upper loft level, while netting has been added to the frame for safety.

The bedroom ceiling has been decorated with a night sky mural and delicate white pendant lights of different sizes.

Let’s take a tour through the rest of the house…

The Entryway

The entryway has an exposed concrete wall highlighted by two wall scones, as well as a dark wood wall, and features a wood bench that rests on a boulder.

The Living Room

In the living room, there’s a double-height ceiling with a sculptural light installation and a large, dark, and monumental natural stone boulder wall that’s used as a backdrop for the fireplace and television. The stone wall exceeds 15 tons in weight.

The Dining Room

Behind the living room is an open concept dining room with a wood slat ceiling, a wood dining table, and dining chairs that match the neutral color palette.

The Kitchen

The kitchen, which can be opened or closed off to the dining room, includes minimalist, hardware-free matte black and white cabinets, as well as an island with a cooktop, and skylights.

The Stairs

The stairs that connect the various levels of the home are made of concrete, wood, and glass. Underneath the stairs, live indoor plants and rocks have been used to create a small garden, bringing the outdoors in.

The Bedrooms

In the primary bedroom suite, there’s a wood accent wall that separates the bedroom from the walk-through closet, which also includes black glass doors.

In another bedroom, there’s a custom-designed built-in window seat with views of the neighborhood. The bedroom also includes a desk with shelving above, and exposed wood beams.

The Bathrooms

Each of the bathrooms in the home has a different look. This bathroom, which is the en-suite bath for the primary bedroom, has a dark material palette with gray walls, wood tiles that travel from the floor to the wall, and a floating black vanity.

In another bathroom, 3-dimensional wall tiles create a unique textured look that’s accentuated by the lighting coming from the backlit mirror.

In yet another bathroom, there’s a more neutral look, with simple textured walls, a minimalist light fixture, and a stone vanity and matching flooring.
